Our Vision for the Arts
ChathamArts, the Chatham County Arts Council, is a not for profit organization that supports and presents the arts and artists in our community. We encourage community participation in the arts to enrich the quality of life of the county's residents. We foster arts awareness and education, and we encourage the use of arts as a tool for economic development.
What We Believe
The arts are a necessary component of a high quality of life. The arts are for everyone regardless of race, gender or socioeconomic status. The arts unify a diverse populace and help to unlock creativity in all aspects of life.
What We Do
ChathamArts encourages all people in Chatham County to experience, and participate in, the arts. We promote local artists and Chatham County as a center for the arts.
How We Do It
ChathamArts enhances the visibility of the arts in Chatham County through communication, education and events. We encourage affordable activities through which Chatham County citizens may experience and enjoy the arts, and at which local artists may express their talents. We have a growing, active and diverse membership, and capitalize on its broad expertise. We collaborate with state and local governments, related non-profit organizations and businesses. We work to secure funding from all sectors of our community.
