Enjoy the high-energy, honky-tonk rhythms of Randy Whitt and the
Grits, bid on one-of-a-kind, hand-painted patio umbrellas, enjoy a burrito
dinner with all the fixings and support our local arts scene at ChathamArts'
Burrito Bash Monday June 4 from 6 pm until 9 pm at the General Store
Café, just off the courthouse circle in Pittsboro. $15 for a
burrito dinner/ $12 for ChathamArts members. Proceeds benefit ChathamArts,
the Chatham County arts council, presenting and promoting local artists
and arts events in the schools and the community throughout the year.
ChathamArts will be auctioning umbrellas hand-painted by local artists
Clyde Jones, Erick Davis, Julia King, and Laurel Parker, and one by
regional folk artist Peter Loose and the kids who attended our spring
ClydeFest.
Randy Whitt and the Grits (named
the Independent Weekly's Band of the Month in March) play a blend of
country, rock and even a bit of soul with a honky-tonk energy that will
make you want to stomp your feet even on a Monday night. Backing singer-songwriter
Whitt are Anthony Lener on lead guitar, Fabio Consani on harmonica,
Josh Sokal on bass, and Caleb Coppola on drums.
Those who buy tickets in advance will be eligible for a prizes in a
drawing. Advance tickets are available at Bluebirds
and Hollyhocks in Fearrington Village and at the General
Store Café and ChathamArts,
