New Studio Tour Artists' Work on Display at the Library: October & November '06

The Friends of the Pittsboro Memorial Library, www.pittsborolibraryfriends.org , gallery exhibit for October and November features "New Artists - Chatham County Studio Tour" in the Reeves Gallery at the library, 158 West St, Pittsboro (542-3524) during regular library hours (Mon 10-6, Tue 10-8, Wed 10-6, Thu 10-6, Fri 10-6, Sat 9-5).
Each year the new artists on the Chatham County Studio Tour are honored with a show at the library. This year there are five new artists: Bill Cummings, Suzanne Holt, Robert Breen, Cindy Bainbridge, and Joey Howell. In addition to several examples of each artist's work, there will be photos of the artists and their studios by Dr. John Shillito, a well known photographer, teacher at CCCC, and former artist on the studio tour.
The Chatham Studio Tour, www.chathamstudiotour.com, now in it's 14th year, is one of the oldest and best known in the country. It is sponsored by the Chatham Artists Guild. All the artists on the tour are members of the Guild. This year the artists' studios will be open to the public on the first two weekends in December (12/2,/ 12/3, 12/9, 12/10). On Friday, December 1, there will be a reception in the multipurpose room at CCCC from 7 to 9 PM, where all of the artists on the tour will have work on display.
