Drew Lasater and directed by Ellen Bland.
"Not everyone would have seen the potential in the work of local kids and musicians laboring to tell the story of their millworker ancestors. Linda Booker did. With her deft use of filmed interviews with cast members, scenes captured from performances across North Carolina and comments from audience members and former millworkers, she has preserved what could have been lost when the lights dimmed on closing night. Thanks to her, Millworker will have the permanence it deserves." – Dennis Rogers, columnist The News & Observer
MILLWORKER the Documentary is a fiscally sponsored project of the Southern Documentary Fund, a non-profit organization that encourages the production of documentary projects about the American South and by documentary artists living in the region. Funding for the DVD production was provided by The Mary Duke Biddle Foundation.
