For Artists:
ChathamArts is currently seeking names of Chatham County artists who are interested in offering a school workshop on their specialty, or who would like to participate in a week-long school residency during which time they would most likely work with a specific grade level on a specific curricular focus which would include their specialty, for example the importance of wood, woodworking and wood products in NC history; the use of music to teach math concepts; a piece of early American history (sailing, mining, farming); the place of pottery in the economic development of NC, etc.
The possibilities are endless! If you would like to offer a residency but are not sure how your specialty might relate to NC curriculum, ChathamArts will try help you find a way. Just ask! If you are interested, please send an email to Arts in Education Committee Member Daryl Walker at: dfwalker99@hotmail.com .
